Buffalo Vascular Care is accredited by the American Association for Accreditation of Ambulatory Surgery Facilities (AAAASF). It is a premier full clinical vascular interventional practice specializing in image guided minimally invasive vascular and nonvascular treatments. Our practice has been serving Western New York since 2001. Our physicians specialize in cutting edge minimally invasive treatments designed to alleviate symptoms without surgery. The American Association for Accreditation of Ambulatory Surgery Facilities, Inc. (AAAASF) was established in 1980 to standardize and improve the quality of health care in outpatient facilities. AAAASF accredits thousands of facilities world-wide, making it one of the largest not-for-profit outpatient accrediting organizations. Physicians, clinicians, legislators, state/federal health agencies and patients acknowledge that AAAASF sets the "Gold Standard in Accreditation."

Azher Iqbal, MD

Dr. Iqbal is a board certified and fellowship trained vascular interventional radiologist. He has more than 25 years of experience earning recognition as a Top Doctor in his specialty for over 10 years. His expertise is in outpatient minimally invasive treatment of various vascular and nonvascular conditions. Dr. Iqbal is an Assistant Clinical Professor of Radiology at SUNY Buffalo and teaches medical students during clinical rotations at Buffalo Vascular Care. During the course of his practice, Dr. Iqbal has hosted many training sessions on advanced endovascular techniques for numerous interventional radiologists and vascular surgeons within WNY and United States.

He additionally chairs medical educational conferences annually in WNY. He is considered a leader in minimally invasive endovascular treatments. He has acted in advisory role to various medical industry engineering departments providing technical advice.

Our experienced Buffalo Vascular Care team includes Certified Registered Nurses, Registered Vascular Ultrasound Technicians, Registered Radiology Technicians, Medical Secretaries, & Medical Assistants. Our entire team works seamlessly together with your treating providers to offer you the effective patient-centric medical care. The Buffalo Vascular Care team provides consultation and procedural management at our outpatient facility located on Transit Road in Depew, NY. On-site accredited vascular lab allows our team to provide timely evaluations with Doppler/Ultrasound imaging for various conditions.

Safet Lekperic, MD is a board-certified Interventional Radiologist who specializes in advanced, minimally invasive, image-guided treatments for a wide range of vascular and nonvascular conditions. At Buffalo Vascular Care, he is part of a multidisciplinary team dedicated to improving patients' quality of life through comprehensive outpatient care, innovative endovascular therapies, and a strong commitment to limb preservation.

Dr. Lekperic has a special interest in advanced vascular and embolic therapies, providing minimally invasive treatment options for peripheral arterial disease (PAD) as part of Buffalo Vascular Care's multidisciplinary limb preservation and amputation prevention program. He also treats patients with benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH), uterine fibroids, pelvic venous disorders, chronic venous disease, and chronic musculoskeletal pain.

His expertise includes prostate artery embolization (PAE), uterine fibroid embolization (UFE), genicular artery embolization (GAE), musculoskeletal embolization (MSK embolization), hemorrhoid embolization (HAE), and other advanced image-guided procedures that can offer effective alternatives to traditional surgery and other more invasive treatments.

Dr. Lekperic earned his medical degree from SUNY Downstate College of Medicine in Brooklyn, New York. He completed his Diagnostic Radiology residency at Mount Sinai Hospital in New York City, followed by a fellowship in Vascular and Interventional Radiology at RUSH University Medical Center in Chicago, Illinois.

He is board certified by the American Board of Radiology in Diagnostic and Interventional Radiology and is an active member of the Society of Interventional Radiology and the American College of Radiology.

Dr. Lekperic is known for his compassionate, patient-centered approach and believes in providing conservative, evidence-based care whenever possible. He works closely with primary care physicians, podiatrists, orthopedic surgeons, gynecologists, urologists, and other specialists to develop personalized treatment plans that meet each patient's unique needs. He cares for patients 18 years of age and older.

As a member of the Buffalo Vascular Care team, Dr. Lekperic is committed to expanding access to state-of-the-art outpatient vascular and interventional radiology services. His goal is to help patients achieve the best possible outcomes through innovative, minimally invasive treatments that promote faster recovery, preserve limbs whenever possible, and improve overall quality of life.

Dr. Angela Riznyk-Bosworth is a WNY native and the daughter of Dr. Peter Riznyk. She graduated from Orchard Park High School and graduated Magna Cum Laude from the State University of NY College at Geneseo. She then completed her graduate education at the Scholl College of Podiatric Medicine in North Chicago, IL where she graduated top of her class.

Following receipt of her DPM degree, she completed a three year residency in Podiatric Medicine and Surgery with the added credential in Reconstructive Rearfoot and Ankle Surgery at the Inova Fairfax Medical Campus in Falls Church, VA. In addition to comprehensive training in both Podiatric Medicine and Surgery, her training included rotations on Internal Medicine, Infectious Disease, Emergency Medicine, General Surgery, Vascular Surgery, Radiology, Anesthesia, Pain Service, Orthopedic Trauma, Orthopedic Oncology, Wound Care, and Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery. She treats complex pathologies of the foot and ankle including, but not limited to, pes planus (flatfoot), pes cavus (high-arched foot), Charcot neuroarthropathy, Diabetic foot ulcers, lateral ankle instability, ankle arthritis, foot and ankle trauma, as well as forefoot pathologies (bunions, hammertoes, neuromas, metatarsus adductus, etc.).

Dr. Riznyk-Bosworth is a member in good standing with the American Podiatric Medical Association and a Fellow of the American College of Foot and Ankle Surgeons. She is Board Certified by the American Board of Foot and Ankle Surgery in both Foot and Reconstructive Rearfoot and Ankle Surgery.

Jenna graduated from Pennsylvania College of Technology where she received her Combined Bachelor/Master of Science in Physician Assistant Studies in 2022. She is a board-certified physician assistant. Since that time, she has practiced inpatient medicine at Buffalo General Hospital. She seeks to use her knowledge and compassion towards others to provide exceptional patient care.

Kathryn Nguyen is an Adult-Gerontology Primary Care Nurse Practitioner who is committed to providing high-quality, patient-centered care. She earned her Master of Science in Nursing in Adult Health from the University of Rochester and is board-certified by the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners.

Kathryn began her nursing career in oncology, where she developed a strong foundation in complex clinical care and a deep appreciation for supporting patients and their families through challenging times. She has a special interest in wound care and is passionate about helping patients achieve optimal healing and improved quality of life through a collaborative, multidisciplinary approach.

Kathryn values building meaningful relationships with her patients and creating a supportive environment where patients feel heard, informed, and actively involved in their care. In her free time, she enjoys spending time with her family, her dogs, and being outdoors.
